Hi!

One of my aunts was diagnosed with breast cancer level III midyear last year. I never thought the dreaded disease would brush so close to our lives. Now I'm much aware of it as one predisposing factor of cancer is genetic. There's an aggressive online awareness program via the booby wall (www.boobywall.ca) for women to Touch Look and Check.

Warax, sorry to hear about your aunt its one of those things we do think will never happen to us.

I will look at the link as this is definitely something we should do often, though many of us just do not think to do so and awareness for breast cancer just gets forgotten.

Hi Warax

Sorry to hear about your aunt - hope the cancer is still at an early stage.

Woman should be proactive by having checks every year especially after 40.

Yeah, a lot of people aren't aware of how easily breast cancer can become serious, and how hard it can be to detect, especially in larger-breasted women.

Another thing some people don't know, men can get breast cancer as well. It sounds like something you'd read in the National Inquirer, but it can happen. It's rare, but it does happen.

You are absolutely right that men can get breast cancer, but I think you are wrong to say well-endowed women are more prone to breast cancer -  that is probably an optical illusion  Wink Smiley

I mean that if it's in the center of a large breast, it could be difficult to detect by touch, since any discomfort from feeling that deep would be the breasts natural sensitivity. Never said they were more prone to it, though, because there is more tissue, it could affect the odds slightly.
